Printing settings

Instructions

  • I recommend printing with 3 wall layers and 100% infill.
  • This is designed with very tight tolerances so print quality is very important.
  • If you have problems with the screw tolerances you can try shrinking them in the x and y directions.

Assembly

The first step for assembly is to separate the handles and blade from their bases. Firmly grip the base and snap it off. Next, use small pliers to remove the supports from the pin holes at the top of the handles and bottom of the blade. File down any material left in the pin holes from the supports. I recommend using a small circular file but a knife would also work.
The blade pins should have a very loose fit with the blade and a tight fit with the handles. Also check the fit between the blade and the handles. If it is too tight and does not rotate smoothly, file down the inside surfaces of the handles until it rotates smoothly. Once everything fits together smoothly, use a flat head screwdriver to screw the pins in place. I would also recommend applying a plastic lubricant on all contact surfaces.

This video shows what each part should look after the supports have been removed. It also shows how to assemble them.

This is an image of how it should look after being assembled.
